Say You’re Wrong

Tim Pope takes over directorial duties for “Say You’re Wrong.” Available in two versions…. Each builds on the lyrical hook of “don’t know which way to turn,” with Julian as a trainman carrying one red and one green flag. He tries to alert a speeding locomotive as it rolls across the winter landscape, but it passes him by in a flurry of smoke. He chases after it, following the tracks into a tunnel. The camera wheels high above the scene, soaring over the train as it snakes along its predetermined route. Turning about, the train suddenly starts chasing Julian, doubling him back to the tunnel and his starting point at an observation post near a crossroads. Could the face of a girl we glimpsed in a passenger car at the beginning have anything to do with this, or is it merely a parable of modern rail seduction? Julian’s not telling, nor should he. As much burden as it is benefit, he has borne out the promise of his celebrity lineage in much the same way that the scepter of power and fortune has perennially been passed to the eldest since earliest times.
